Overview
We have an opportunity for a charismatic and talented Worcestershire-based professional musician to join our team to run choirs in or near Redditch, Studley & Bromsgrove. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.
As a Rock Choir Leader, you will be fully trained for the role and will need a high standard of piano and vocal skills (Equivalent to ABRSM grade 5). You will also need a positive and energetic approach to work and a caring, happy and charismatic personality.
The ability to work enthusiastically as a team player is key (no divas please!) Successful applicants will join the current team of more than 60 friendly, supportive and outgoing musicians who are already enjoying their career with the UK’s favourite contemporary choir. Opportunities to perform on stage and on TV come with the job. You would work a 3/4 day week leading choirs learning popular songs with 1 additional regular training day per month and work 30-35 weeks per year with our long holidays. Arrangements and many other resources and support are provided. Your choirs would mostly take place on weekday evenings and you would be leading the choir members (who will become like an extended family to you) to concerts locally and nationally.
You also have the chance for career development in specialist areas once you are settled as a choir leader.
